To demonstrate your personal understanding of the process of career counseling, you will write a 13 page, APA compliant paper (including one title page, one abstract page, ten pages of content and one reference page) in which you:
1. Identify a possible practice choice (type of career counseling)
2. Explain your best-fit counseling theory for your practice as a career counselor
3. Apply the model of approach you might employ in your work
Be sure to include:
1. A strong thesis/purpose of the paper that sets the stage for the information to come, provides paper rationale, and catches readers’ attention.
2. An analysis of the value and the disadvantages, from your viewpoint, of incorporating assessment testing into your practice. Consider the specific assessment test (s) you might you use, and provide a clear rationale that substantiates your selection of assessment tools.
3. How you will apply multiculturalism in your counseling
4. An explanation of how you intend to be in compliance with relevant state laws and various ethic codes. You will need to reference sources, such as state laws and models/theories that you mentioned in your previous assignments, but in this assignment, you are responsible to discuss how you will be in compliance with law and the application of models/theory as you engage in the practice of career counseling in your state
5. A discussion of how you plan to provide support to people with special needs.
6. Your in-text citations and references must include a minimum of ten peer reviewed resources. One of these resources must be the article you read for Week 2, “Finding True North: How to help clients find a fulfilling career”.
