The aim of this Project is to review the fire performance of CLT, evaluate its resistance to fire as an element of structure taking into accounting the amount of wood which would char in a fire scenario and consider the reduction in mechanical properties, (modulus of elasticity and strength) of CLT with temperature. The student would develop a finite element model for predicting the structural fire resistance of CLT members and make comparisons against availabe tests data and design formulae.
